What is aerogel?
Aerogel is a low-density, high-porosity nanoporous material made by American scientist S. Kistler in 1931. More than 80% of the aerogels are air, so it has very good heat insulation effect. 1 inch thick aerogel insulation function is equivalent to 20-30 pieces ordinary glass’. In 2017, the KISTLER team developed a textile-specific aerogel composite super-warm material, which solved the problem that the aerogel could not be used in the clothing industry for 50 years.
